Bobby George Grice, 1959–2024

Bobby George Grice, age 64, passed away in Lubbock on Thursday, February 15, 2024.

Family visitation took place Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Miller Family Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Monday, February 19, 2024 at 10:00 am at Colonial Hill Baptist Church, 3506 El Paso Ave., Snyder, Texas 79549, with Chaplain Kenny Robinson and Pastor Reid Johnson officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home at Jayton Cemetery, Kent County, on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Grice was born on October 1, 1959 in Spur, Texas, to Nolan and Alpha (Fuqua) Grice. He was the founder of Long Ear Benefit Trail Ride for Ben Richey going, at the same time. He lived well, loved well and was well loved.

Bobby worked for the Kinder Morgan gas plant for over 19 years as a SCADA operator. He had attended TSTC Waco and was a talented machinist for J & J Machine and Y & Z Industries. Bobby loved history and the 1800s. He delighted in owning and restoring several antique cars and tractors. He loved to cook from the chuck wagon he built. Bobby had a cap for every occasion. Some of his hardest decisions was deciding which cap to wear that day.

He is survived by his wife, Luann Grice, of Snyder, Texas; four sons, Danny Thomason and wife, Teri, of San Angelo, Texas, Shelby Grice and wife, Bianca, of Snyder, Texas, Richard Grice and girlfriend, Naomi Garcia, of Snyder, Texas, and Dayton Grice of Snyder, Texas; grandson, Kalem Grice, of Boys Ranch, Abilene, Texas; a member of the board of directors of Colorado Mule Riders, a past deacon of Colonial Hill Baptist Church, a past president of Snyder Wheels Car Club and Scurry County and Antique Tractor Club and a member of the American Chuck Wagon Association. Bobby was a respected leader by all. If you ever met him, you instantly liked him. He was steady and wise beyond his years. He was a thinker, and no project was started until he had it planned out in his head. He had several interests and several projects Snyder, TX; seven granddaughters, Taylor Thomason and Lauren Thomason of San Angelo, Texas, Phalen Grice, Journee Grice, Rina Grice, Sammie Ortegon and Aeliana Garcia, all of Snyder, Texas; two brothers, Roger Grice and wife, Carolyn, of Liberal, Kansas, and Brian Grice and wife, Mandy, of Gladewater, Texas; sisterin- law, Beverly Sutton, of Kyle, Texas; four nieces, one nephew and five greatnieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nolan Grice; his mother other, Alpha (Fuqua) Grice; his sister, Barbara Grice, and his nephew, Rodney Grice.
