South Plains Community Action Association, Inc. has received additional funding from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs to operate the comprehensive Energy Assistance Program January 1, 2015-December 31, 2015.
The primary intent of this is to make funds available to enable SPCAA to respond to energy needs affecting low-income households. Priority will be given to Eligible Households and to
households that include at least one member that is elderly, disabled or a child age 5 or younger.
The basic philosophy of energy self-sufficiency will be the central theme in the CEAP. The program is designed to offer flexibility to allow for creative implementation and innovation.
Service delivery not only entails utility payments on behalf of the client, but also a system that addresses the underlying contributing cause of energy induced hardship.
