Evelyn Jeanell Arnold, 1929–2024

Evelyn Jeanell Arnold, 94, of Jayton, Texas, passed away on January 27, 2024. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2024 with burial to follow in Spur Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:30 PM to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan.

Evelyn Jeanell Arnold was born March 27, 1929 in Post, Texas, to the late Lloyd Alvin and Carrie Evans. Jeanell graduated from Spur High School in 1948. She married Charles Floyd Arnold Sr. in Arkansas on October 2, 1948 and they raised four children. Jeanell was a homemaker, a wonderful mother, and a selfless woman. Jeanell enjoyed tending to her roses and they were the talk of the town. She was a member of the Jayton Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Alvina Dement and Betty Walthall; brother Charles (Charlsie) Evans; sister-in-law, Mayumi Evans; grandsons, Keith Thresher and Charles Steve Arnold Jr. (Little Charlie).

Jeanell is survived by four children, Carol Bartle and husband Doug of Littlefield, Barbara Arnold Banks of Littlefield, Charles Stephen Arnold and wife Evelyn of New Deal, and Charles Floyd Arnold Jr. and wife Becky of Jayton; one sister, Carolyn Lee of Waller; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
