Karmen Jean Jenkins Braselton McCulloch, 78, of Level-land passed from this life on May 27, 2019. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at 4 p.m. in East Mound Cemetery in Matador, Texas.

She was born April 5, 1941, in Matador to E.B. and Donnie Jenkins. Karmen graduated from Matador High School in 1959. She married Sut Braselton and had two sons, Steven and Jeff. She lived in Matador until 1966 when she moved to Corpus Christi. Life changed for Karmen and she eventually moved to Lubbock.

Karmen met and married Ronald McCulloch in 1989 and moved to Levelland. She retired from Beall’s Department store. Karmen was a member of the High Plains Cowboy Church.

Her love for singing led to membership in the SonShine Choir at First Baptist Church. Karmen volunteered at the Covenant Hospital Gift Shop in Levelland and was secretary of the South Plains Ladies Canasta Club. She enjoyed playing cards and meeting friends each week for dinner at Dairy Queen and Savannah’s.

Karmen loved spending time with her family. Her sons and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she bragged on them continually. She loved traveling, dancing, and loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Karmen was preceded in death by her parents, E.B. and Donnie Jenkins, and Sut Braselton.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 30 years, Ronald McCulloch, sons, Steven Braselton and partner Michael McKaskle and Jeff and wife Debbie Braselton of Lubbock, grandchildren, Heather and Matt West of Canyon, Kory and Mike Vaughan of Lubbock, Sean Braselton of Canyon, Erin Braselton of Canyon, Haley Braselton of Amarillo, Nichole Watkins of Lubbock, Valorie Thomas of Lubbock, and Chris and Mary Hartline of Lubbock, and 19 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family suggests donations in Karmen’s memory be made to the SonShine Choir, First Baptist Church, 401 Houston Street, Levelland, Texas 79336.
