Whether we have a little of it or a lot, money is something those of us living in 21st-century Texas are well accustomed to spending. As coin, currency, check, credit card, or, increasingly, the bits and bytes of digital transactions, we can quite literally count on it.
In Monday’s regular bimonthly meeting, Kent County commissioners met with representatives of the Abilene district office of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to hear options regarding repair, replacement or abandonment of three substandard bridges in the county.
Crosby County folk always knew they inhabited a special place. Embracing the scenic and historical riches of Blanco Canyon—visited by such towering figures as Coronado, Quanah Parker and Ranald S. Mackenzie—and claiming a heritage of settlement going back to the Quakers, to German-American settlers “Uncle Hank” Smith and his wife, Elizabeth “Aunt Hank” Smith, the rural county on the South Plains had always celebrated arts and culture, and they had plenty of area talent to do it with.
The family of Kelly Reynolds would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone from the Spur and Idalou communities for their kindness and support during our loss. POST’S NEW SPLASH PADS The City of Post has opened new splash pads to go along with their city pool, to help families and children cool off on hot days.
