MORE DICKENS COUNTY 4-H FASHION HONORS 1st place junior construction and cotton award winner was Calvin Chapman, and the team of Mackenzie Gardener, Jaydee Foster and Bucki Smith won 3rd place senior team.
PATTON 4-H HONORS Patton Springs High School students Melania Ramirez, Diezel Ramirez and Toryan Childers represented the Dickens County senior 4-H team and placed first at district competition in Duds to Dazzle. They will advance the state roundup in June.
DICKENS 4H HONORS Dickens 4-H won a second place junior team award at the 2022 district meat judging contest last week. 4-H members included Allie Weiser, Grayson James, Rylee Foster, Calvin Chapmen and Maddee Foster.
Sunday morning, April 3, before dawn a home in the 400 block of Willard Avenue in Spur was destroyed by fire. Emergency crews responded at 4:30 on Sunday morning, according to Spur fire chief Wess Abbott, who said that when firefighters were paged the house was already well involved in fire with occupants still inside.

The Jayton-Girard ISD One Act Play season ended Saturday with competition at the area meet at Frenship last week. Their play, “Badger,” was not selected to advance to regional. However, three students were recognized with individual honors.
