One man was arrested Friday afternoon, Nov. 12, in Spur on charges of aggravated assault as well as possession of a controlled substance, and two others on possession of a controlled substance following a “shock and awe” operation involving eight other agencies, according to Spur Chief of Police Billy R. Spears.

What an unusual year this has been. We were pummeled last spring with freeze damage, and now we are well into November and—as of the writing of this column—there has not yet been a freeze.
On Saturday, November 13, the Spur Police Department and the Dickens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a request for officers in in Spur. Upon arrival Chief Billy R. Spears of the Spur PD contacted three female subjects, who informed Chief Spears of a possible sexual assault of a child, according to a statement by Spur PD.
