At the 141st convention of the Texas Press Association, June 10–12, 2021, in Denton, The Caprock Courier and The Texas Spur were among approximately 80 Texas daily, semi-weekly, and weekly newspapers receiving annual awards for outstanding journalism in dozens of categories in nine divisions.

Matcha, popular in drinks and baked goods, is simply a highgrade powdered form of green tea leaves. No special equipment is needed to prepare the tea, hot or cold. A bamboo whisk is often used to thoroughly mix the powder, but not required. The whisk is shaped to scrape the bottom of the cup to lift any residual powder that could clump together.
Gardeners who have waited to plant a summer garden can still plant most summer crops. With temperatures soaring into the 100s, seeds of warm-season crops germinate quickly and will catch up to the same crops planted weeks ago because physiological development of crop plants is controlled in large part by temperature.
POOLS OPEN The Crosbyton Pool opened this week for the first time in four years. Crosbyton residents fundraised and the City of Crosbyton budgeted necessary funds to repair the pool.
