WACO — Debbi Ball of Spur, Jean Williams of Lubbock, and Terri Koch and Sharon McDougle both of Crosbyton, members of Gamma Eta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International (DKG) joined with women educators from around the state of Texas in Waco June 14–16, 2018, for the 89th annual Texas State Organization convention.

The Dickens Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Patriotic Celebration will be on Wednesday, July 4. It will begin at 2 p.m. with a bounce house and water games for the kids. The parade will be at 6 p.m. and then there will be a fajita supper fundraiser at 7 p.m. on the south side of the Dickens Courthouse. Cost of the meal will be any donation to the Fire Department. Fireworks will get underway on the south side of the courthouse at dusk.
