For local historians, archeologists and history buffs, one of the most highly anticipated events in Briscoe County is coming up again Saturday, June 10, attheComancheroCanyons Museum. The Comanchero Rendezvous, the signature gathering for the museum, will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day.
The last, but certainly not least, of the leafy greens for summer gardens is Garden Sorrel. It is a unique, little-used salad green with a citrusy, tangy zing. It is a little fussy to start from seed, but after seedlings are established, it is easy to grow. This is terrific addition to the edible perennial garden.
You may recall a popular salad that’s been around for years which contains ranch-style beans, grated, cheese, Fritos, and French dressing, along with the lettuce and tomatoes. It’s tasty, but I craved a cleaned-up version.
