Bobby Shane Long was born January 10, 1977. He passed away from this life to his new and wonderful life on April 12, 2020. Shane was a true country boy—if he had a fishing pole in his hand he was happy as he could be. When he smiled it was big as the sky.

Shane was an athlete and fought many battles for the Jayton Jaybirds. He showed many champion pigs. Shane was a working man. It didn’t matter what the job was, he was the man for it. He could operate any type of equipment you had. He could build a bridge, a road, or a dirt tank to water cattle. Whatever you needed, he could do it.

Shane is survived by his mother, Kathleen Rider; father, Bob Long; children, Tori and Brody; uncles Don Long, Edwin Long; Angie and Bill Bailey, Grace and Larry Clark; brothers and sisters Kassie Valerio, Kyle Long, and Shay Stanaland; grandmother Jackie Carr; and nephews Mitch Rider, Skylar Rider, Justin Taylor, and R. C. Lietherger.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Alta and Larry Rider; grandfather James Long; uncle Jim Rider; and brother James Doyle.

A memorial service is pending at this time.
