Dickens Republicans go for Paxton in runoff

BARBARA BRANNON | TEXAS SPUR In a Republican primary runoff contest May 26, 2026, for U.S. Senator that pitted Trump-backed former attorney general Ken Paxton against longtime incumbent John Cornyn, Dickens County went for Paxton with 79.23% of 181 total votes cast.
UNDER SHADY MESQUITES a new clubhouse has been taking shape for the Spur Golf Association. The new metal building replaces an old wood-frame structure. The SGA obtained a forgivable loan of $25,000 from the Spur Economic Development Corporation to help defray construction expenses. | TEXAS SPUR

18 players in May 19 scramble

Tuesday Scramble Recap, May 19: We had some cooler weather this week, and eighteen players showed up ready to play some golf, with six teams being formed. There was a 2-way tie for 1st place, and the teams decided to split 1st place and 2nd place. There was also a 3-way tie for 3rd place.
