Darl Glen Walker, 1943–2020

Darl Glen Walker was born in Brownfield, Texas, on April 16, 1943, to Lee and Alleta (Edie) White Walker. He was the youngest of four older sisters and was raised in Meadow, Texas, and on a ranch near White River Lake.

Darl graduated Meadow High School and attended West Texas State University. He raised cattle and farmed in Crosby and Dickens Counties. Darl spent several years going to many sale barns, buying and selling cattle. He always said he never went to work because he loved what he did.

Darl has four children, Lori Hill, Marty Walker, Lee Walker and Jody Cabler. He married Ann on July 3, 1989, and gained three extra daughters, Zoe Robertson, Becky Hodges and Kasey Johnson.

Darl was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Alleta, and his sisters Alma Preston, Joyce Odle and Freda Harris. He is survived by his wife Ann, daughter Lori Hill and husband Dennis of Colleyville, Texas, son Marty Walker of Crosbyton, Texas, son Lee Walker and wife Sonia of Muleshoe, Texas, and daughter Jody Cabler and husband Jeremy of Spur, Texas; grandchildren Kris Hill and his wife, Michelle; Cody Hill and his wife, Kelsey; Lacy Sperry and her husband, Josh; Brandon Walker; Dillon Walker; Marti Walker; Trent Walker and his wife, Elizabeth; Brooke Walker; Jacy Baca and her husband, Jayton; and Jett Cabler; seven great-grandchildren; sister Lee Nell Eubank and husband J.W.; Candi Cowden, Rex Finley, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2020, at 10 a.m. at the Spur Memorial Cemetery in Spur, Texas, under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home. This service is open to all family and friends. Please know you will be in the open air and not under a tent. If you have a great story or memory of Darl, please be prepared and feel free to share.
