OBITUARIES

Lois Priscilla Hutton Cox

was born May 17, 1919, in House, NM. She passed away on May 21, 2019, in Matador, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Dickens and Spur, Texas.

In 1923, at the age of four, she and her family moved from House, NM, traveling by covered wagon, to Spur, where she and her family of 10 lived in the community of Red Mud. She attended school in Spur.

Lois was a waitress for more than 40 years. She was an outgoing person who loved to travel. She lived in many different towns and states. Lois had a love of people, talking to them and telling interesting, humorous stories. She loved being with her family.

She is survived by three daughters, Patsy McAnally Fulford of Brownfield, Texas, LaNell McAnally DeJesus, of Oceanside, California, and Lana McAnally Burnette, and husband Ralph Burnette, of Carlsbad, California; a son, Lynn (Mac) McAnally, and his wife Lynette McAnally, of Matador; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, whom she loved and adored.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Bertha Hutton; brothers Melvin, Elso, Bill, John and Burl Hutton; and sisters Mildred Hutton Gatling and Francis Hutton Gibson.

Graveside services were performed by Pastor Marvin West of the Church of the Nazarene at Dickens Cemetery on May 27, 2019, at 10 a.m.
