The UIL 1A State track meet took place on May 16 at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas at Austin. In recent years, the University of Texas has become a marquee destination for UIL sports. The best athletes from Conference 1A gathered next door to Darrell K.

Congratulations goes to the Jayton UIL Academic team. The Jaybirds finished as the Overall School Sweepstakes RunnersUp at the UIL State Meet. The Jayton Speech Team brought home a State Championship with these individual performances.

Four Spur High School students will compete at the State UIL Academic meet to be held on the University of Texas campus May 18–19 in Austin. Spur also finished in the top ten out of the 46 schools represented at the regional meet in Levelland April 24.
