The board of directors of the White River Municipal Water District held its regular meeting Aug. 17, 2026, at 7 p.m. in the district office. Directors present were Delbert Rudd, Keith Garner, Donnie Arnold, Woodie McArthur, Ron Young, Tommy Murillo, Lance Morris, Richard Munoz and Forrest Griffin.

The Texas A&M Forest Service conducted the fifth Funding Round for Fiscal Year 2026 on August 26, 2026. During this round, approximately $5 million in grants was awarded to Texas volunteer fire departments, including more than $58,000 within Dickens and Garza Counties.
