from the May 2, 2026 Spur ISD school board election, for Place 5, Matt Humphreys was elected with 18 total votes; for place 6; Cody Schmidt was elected with 74 votes to Bandy Moeller’s 24.

Amanda Spiva, extension agent, took six members to Amarillo for the District 3 Horse Judging Competition. Maddee Foster competed as a senior and placed 6th overall and 5th in reasons. Intermediate Paisley Smith placed 2nd overall and 5th in reasons The junior team won 1st place team!

GOOD WEATHER PORTENDS GOOD SALES FROM ROARING SPRINGS TO JAYTON The annual Highway 70 Garage Sales is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, with more than 40 vendors signed up as of Tuesday along a 60-mile stretch of two-lane blacktop, according to co-organizer Joan Day of Spur.

Spur shows up strong at Region I UIL meet

The South Plains College campus was a friendly place to the Spur High School regional qualifiers who spent their April 24 representing Bulldog and Spurette Nation. Four Spur students will now advance to the State UIL meet to be held on the University of Texas campus May 18-19 in Austin.
