AUSTIN—Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock today said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.97 billion in September, 3.2 percent more than in September 2024. The majority of September sales tax revenue is based on sales made in August and remitted to the agency in September.

Texas Spur Country towns set Trunk or Treat dates, plans

Like most small towns across West Texas, Texas Spur Country has moved Trunk or Treat dates due Friday night football on Friday, Oct. 31. JAYTON Jayton Church of Christ at 901 Clairemont will host their annual Trunk or Treat beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025.

Chili Cook-off, History Ramble set for Dickens County Nov. 8

The Second Annual Spur Chili Cook-off, sponsored by the Spur Area ChamberofCommerce,and held in conjunction with the Dickens County Historical Commission Second Annual History Ramble, is slated for Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Spur ISD Cafetorium.
