JAYTON OAP ADVANCES The Jayton One Act Play company of “Badger” was selected last Thursday at bi-district in Post to advance to the Area meet Saturday, April 1 in Frenship.

Spur advances 8 to UIL Academic Regional contest

Spur schools competed last week at the UIL District Academic meet at Jayton Schools, and Spur advanced eight students to regional. The Regional Meet will be April 22 at South Plains College in Levelland.

Dickens 4-H wins livestock judging at Valley

Dickens County 4-H Livestock judging competed in Canyon, Clarendon and Valley last week with hundreds of other students across the area. At Clarendon, Kaygen Walker got 2nd overall and Kendal Walker got 17th overall in the intermediate division.

Patton Springs School posts 4th 6 weeks honor rolls

The following students enrolled in Patton Springs School earned “A” Honor Roll for the 4th 6 weeks of the 2021– 22 school year.

Spur 4th of July celebrations slated for 2022

During the first week of spring, it’s not too early to be circling dates on summer calendars in Spur. Families and community members are eager to get outdoors and enjoy themselves after two long years of pandemic delays and restrictions.

Spur Little League teams assigned for 2022 season

Spur Little League baseball has been organizing for its spring and summer season, with full game schedules soon to be set. The season will kick off with a T-ball game on Monday, March 28. There are no set fundraisers as of yet, organizers said.
