Thanks to helpers in Spur park project

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Although there are a few things left to do, the refurbishment of the park in Spur is almost complete. There are several people who donated their time and/or equipment while helping with this project, and these people are worth mentioning.

Tye Maben and Jesse Roa ran a skid steer and other equipment for days on end, removing dirt from the park, and when necessary, they spent many hours shoveling dirt by hand. Additionally, Jesse leveled the crushed rock and will power wash the rock fence and large stones in the park later. David White provided his time and expertise in placing the stones for the fence. Tom Martin drove a dump truck.

Thanks to Benny Robertson, who spent a significant amount of time unloading rock for the fence with his equipment, and he also loaned his equipment so that the rock could be put into place for the fence. Thanks to Jeromy Rutledge and Randy Adams, who loaned equipment that proved extremely valuable when moving dirt. John Eric Swenson IV and Jake Swenson put in manual labor, which involved shoveling and raking dirt and spreading crushed rock. Thank you, J.D. Hamilton, Ace Walker, Darla Thomason, and Don Wright, who responded to a volunteer request to spread crushed rock. Thank you, Chris Cornett, with the city of Spur, who marked water lines, and Ashley Carothers, who kept track of all expenses and billing.

Finally, thanks again to Clearway Energy, who graciously donated the funds towards the refurbishment of the park.

Sincerely,

John Eric Swenson III
