In the regular monthly meeting of the Patton Springs Independent School District Board of Trustees on August 11, 2025 the group first held a hearing on the Every Student Succeeds Act 2025-2026 (ESSA) Public Notice for applying for the ESSA Federal Grant fund before the regular monthly meeting.
Bryan White, interim superintendent, discussed the TASA/TASB School Board Convention, September 11-14, 2025 in Houston. White also discussed school activities, school safety, maintenance projects, vehicles/transportation, July 2025 certified values, budget, accountability ratings, upcoming OMA and board meeting legislative rules effective 9/1/2025, Meet the Teacher, SHAC and Title 1.
Clayt Bridge made the motion and Ernest Ramirez madethesecondtoapprove the district intent, option 2. The motion passed.
Ernest Ramirez made the motion that for the 20252026 school year, PISD delegated contractual authority to obligate the school district under Texas Education Code (TEC) 11.1511(c) (4) to the superintendent, solely for the purpose of obligating the district under TEC, 48.257 and TEC, Chapter 49, Subchapters A and D, and the rules adopted by the commissioner of education as authorized under TEC, 49.006. This included approval of the Agreement for the Purchase of Attendance Credit or the Agreement for the Purchase of Attendance Credit (Netting Chapter 48 Funding). Ronda Dalton made the second. The motion passed.
Following a review of the proposed budget and tax rate, Lana Burson made the motion and Bridge made the second to set the proposed tax rate for $0.7421. The motion passed.
Bridge made the motion and Ernest Ramirez made the second to set August 25, 2025, 7:00 p.m., 1261 East FM 193, Administrative Office, Afton, Texas for the Public Meeting to Discuss Budget and Proposed Tax Rate. The motion passed.
Lana Burson made the motion and Ernest Ramirez made the second to approve the cell phone policy as presented. The motion passed.
Dalton made the motion and Burson made the second to approve Bryan White, interim superintendent and/or Becky Hodges, business manager “Employee” for the Form 50859, Tax Code section 26.04 designation and Rhonda Brendle, current Dickens County Tax Assessor-Collector, as preparer and signs this document. The motion passed.
Bridge made the motion and Dalton made the second to approve the Lubbock ISD Regional Day School for the Deaf Shared Services Arrangement Agreement. The motion passed.
Burson made the motion and Bridge made the second to approve the SLC Shared Services Agreement. The motion passed.
Dalton made the motion and Bridge made the second to approve the 25-26 Adult meal lunch and the Adult Breakfast rates effective August 11, 2025. The motion passed.
