Obviously, the recognition the Texas Spur received in five Division Eight categories speaks volumes for your expertise in journalistic writing.
The articles you chose this previous year were recognized for their notoriety in writing expertise but also in readability and interest in the articles. Everyone understands that local newspapers rely on classified advertisements, large political announcements, school tax rate notices and how the local teams performed to financially survive in this business, among other things.
Congratulations are in order for the work you two have done in making the Texas Spur a top-rated small town newspaper. Congratulations are also in order for the conglomerate you have been able to develop by purchasing other local newspapers to add to your Paragraph Ranch LLC holdings.
My father owned the Texas Spur for 39 years. He refused to sell the paper to big newspapers that would not include local news. Your articles have that local flavor that makes the Texas Spur a paper most local people wish to read. Keep it neighborly; keep it local. That was what my father said. It was good advice for 39 years.
