Early-morning ice leads to destruction of historic Jayton Methodist building
JAYTON DEMOLITION The shell of the 1936 building that once housed the First United Methodist Church of Jayton was razed this week. The structure had suffered from an electrical fire prompted by ice accumulating on old power lines, and the congregation elected to move elsewhere in town. “So sad and my prayers have been w community and Church people,” commented Facebook poster Lisa Carey on the Double J Chronicles page. “But we will push on, its faith and the strength of the people.” | THE TEXAS SPUR
