Friday night at Spur’s Jones Stadium, the Bulldogs fought hard but lost to the #1-ranked Westbrook Wildcats. The game ended in the third quarter with a score of 8–58.
The Bulldogs fought hard but struggled to get any offense going until the second quarter. In the second quarter, the Bulldogs strung together several plays and moved the ball down the field. #28 Ryan Davis ran nine yards and scored the home team’s first and only touchdown of the game. #25 Kayden Martinez kick the extra point, and it was good.
The Bulldogs kept playing hard and had some good stretches of defense, but couldn’t consistently get anything going offensively. Spur battled till the end but came up short.
Head coach Tate Clark said afterward, “We faced a really, good team and showed some of our weaknesses. We need to improve on these to get to where we want to be.”
The Bulldogs are ready to prepare for Anton this week. The game will be held in Anton at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
