The 3rd annual Hacker’s Tournament was held on May 21–22 at the Spur Golf Association. It was a great weekend of golf, and a good time was had by the 37 two-person teams who came out to participate.
Coming in first place in the championship flight was the team of Beau Burgess and Alex Huggins with their score of 128 for the weekend. Second place was the team of Jimmy Ashley and Shane Shobert with a score of 130. Third place was taken home by Nicky Rowland and Jason Aven with their score of 131.
After a playoff between the teams of Quentin McLaury and Rocky Gonzalez and the team of Clay Taylor and Warren Taylor, the team of McLaury and Gonzalez took home first place in the President’s Flight with their score of 136. The Team of Clay Taylor and Warren Taylor took home second place. Third place was the team of Brady Hinson and Ryan Rogers, with a score of 137.
Winning first place in the First Flight was the team of Chase Ezell and Cory Balios with their total score of 143. Coming in for a tie for Second Place were the teams of Landon White and Riley Abbott and JDon Hinson and Stormy Joplin with a score of 145.

Golf scramble results Tuesday, May 17 features backwards golf playoff
It was hot and breezy for last week’s Golf Scramble Tuesday! Five teams were formed and two places were paid out.
Coming in hot for first place bragging rights last week was the team of Floyd Starkey, Sue Starkey, Justin Posey, Eddie Clark and Lesli Clark with 6 under par and a score of 30. Way to go, team!
Coming into the clubhouse tying with 4 under par and a score of 32 were the teams of Seth McMinn, Daniel Perez, Don Kaneski, Norman Hill and the team of Jimmy Ashley, Ron Young, Freddy Gonzalez, Wes Joplin and Derek Ninneman. A playoff was needed, and the participants unanimously voted that it would be played with backwards golf! If you have never seen backwards golf played, it is interesting and very different. Congratulations to the team of Ashley, Young, Joplin and Ninneman who won the playoff with their par on the No. 9 hole!
Bravo to Floyd Starkey, who landed his drive on Hole No. 8 and collected the money with his drive landing on No. 8 16’ 2” from the hole! Shout out to Sue Starkey ,who also landed her drive 16’8” inches from the hole. She may not have won closest to the hole, but it was an awesome drive! Way to go Floyd and Sue!
No one landed a drive on Hole No. 1 last week, so that money pot will continue to grow until someone does!
