The 51st Bob Wills Day is slated for Turkey, Texas, April 27-29, and organizers have announced the lineup for this year.
Thursday night will feature Billy Mata and The Texas Tradition kicking off the event with a night of dancing.
On Friday Jake Hooker and Jason Roberts, along with their bands, will be performing with a battle dance harkening back to days when Bob Wills and Spade Cooley would go head to head to wow the crowds.
On Saturday Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys under the Direction of Jason Roberts will be telling the Story Of Bob Wills and Bob Wills Day on the Townsend Outdoor Stage in the afternoon. Brennen Leigh will be the opening act for Jody Nix and his Texas Cowboys.
Throughout the week, other informal and official events take place.
