Appletons take over as directors of CrossView camp

The Dickens-based Cross-View Christian Camp will welcome new leaders Seth Appleton as camp director and Kassi Appleton as director of development this month, according to information shared by the organization. The Appletons were hired by CrossView’s board January 19.

The couple aren’t newcomers, though—they both trained under former directors P.J. and Jennifer Schmidt. Both have served as staff at CrossView and have been involved with CrossView’s ministry for many years; Seth has been involved since he was 8 years old.

Seth holds a degree in Camp Management and Recreation from Wayland Baptist University, and Kassi holds a degree from Texas Tech University and also brings teaching experience in Texas schools to the mix.

The couple has two daughters, Adler and Amelia.

CrossView’s ministry focuses on reaching at-risk troubled and traumatized kids from low-income homes. Over 85% of CrossView campers receive scholarships to attend summer camp. Because of this, the ministry relies on fundraisers, donations, and grants to continue serving this population.

The theme for this year’s summer camp is “2020 Vision,” according to Kassi. Donations are welcomed via mail to Cross-View, P. O. Box 288, Dickens, Texas, 79229) and also via PayPal. The organization may be found on Instagram and Facebook, or reached at info@crossviewcamp.org; (806) 294-5021.
