In light of last week’s new concerns around pending border closures and the Covid-19 omicron variant, Canadabased Argo Blockchain made the tough decision to cancel its in-person Hiring Fair and Open House scheduled for Dec. 2 and 3, 2021, in Dickens.
But the firm pressed ahead with virtual interviews, hosting 15 on Friday, Dec. 3, for all of the posted positions, according to Ruby Smith, People Ops Advisor for Argo. “Our recruitment team was incredibly impressed with the level of talent in Dickens County,” Smith said.
In a notice Wednesday afternoon the Argo team said that the Dec. 2 open house would be rescheduled as soon as possible. In the meantime, the company posted that applicants should “please visit www.argoblockchain.com/hiring for updates. We’re very excited to meet you all in person.”
Previously scheduled inperson interviews for Friday were moved to video calls.
Dickens County Judge Kevin Brendle said that applicants wishing to submit resumes in person may bring them to the county judge’s office by the close of business 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10. Any roles that are not filled with this round of interviews will remain posted on Argo’s hiring website: www. argoblockchain.com/hiring
Smith explained that the company’s goal is to extend the initial round of offers by the end of December. Anticipated start dates for each role can be found on the job descriptions posted on the website above.
Additionally, said Smith, Argo is committed to offering competitive pay and benefits. Salary ranges for each role are also posted on the website.
Smith expected the firm would be working with Judge Brendle “to reschedule the open house as soon as we are able.”
