The Patton Springs Rangers traveled to Jayton last Thursday for what would be the last district game of the season. The Jaybirds started the game off strong, coming in with back to back consecutive touchdown’s and putting them at a 14-0 lead early in the first.
The Rangers looked to their seniors, Devon Reyna (#12) and Juan Salas Jr. (#2), for answers, but the Jaybirds remained resilient in holding their ground on their own turf and refused to let the Rangers score.
The Jaybirds brought the Rangers to a halt in the second with a safety, and returned on the next possession to score.
The Rangers would fight until the end, but despite their fighting spirit, the Jaybirds would finish the game early at half with a final score of 56-0.
Senior football players and cheerleaders were honored at Senior Night.
