Burrows to hold Spur town hall Dec. 7

State Representative Dustin Burrows (R-Lubbock) has set up town halls in communities throughout his newly expanded district in December 2021 and in early 2022.

His Dickens County event will present a legislative update, with time for questions and answers during lunchtime Tuesday, Dec. 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Spur Community Center, 502 Burlington Ave. in Spur. The public is welcome at any of these events.

Burrows held his first town halls of the series Wednesday, Dec., 1, in Post and Jayton.

Burrows represents House District 83, which currently includes a large portion of Lubbock County and all of Gaines, Borden, Scurry, Terry, Lynn and Mitchell Counties.

The redistricting maps approved by the Texas legislature in October remove Gaines from the district and add Dickens and Kent Counties, as well as Crosby and Garza.

The counties added to HD 83 will shift from the current HD 68, represented since early 2021 by David Spiller, R-Jacksboro. Spiller will continue to represent his current constituents until January 1, 2023, when the winner of the November 2022 election is sworn into office.

Burrows, a Lubbock attorney and businessman, has represented the 83rd district since January 2015.
