David Wallace, a challenger, has filed for one of the City of Dickens at-large city council seats in the May 6 election.
Cities and school boards in Dickens and Kent Counties will accept applications for candidates to run for city councils and school boards through this Friday, Feb. 17.
For the City of Dickens, the Mayor position, currently held by David Warren and two at-large council seats are on the ballot: the at-large positions are currently held byincumbentsMarieMullins and Stephen Hart.
In other municipal elections, the following positions will be on the May 6 ballot.
For the City of Spur, the office of mayor, in which Louise Jones is the incumbent, is on the ballot, as are three council seats, Ward 1, currently held by Fronye Morris, who has announced that she will not be seeking re-election, Ward 2, currently held by Don Wright and Ward 3, currently held by Rhea Melton.
For the City of Jayton, the Mayor position, currently held by George Chisum and two at-large council seats are on the ballot: the at-large positions are currently held by Missy Redford and Kerry McGee.
Jayton-Girard ISD has two board seats on the ballot, at-large seats currently held by B.J. Baldridge and Jeff Arnold. Arnold has filed for re-election.
For Spur ISD, Cody Schmidt, a lineman for Cap Rock Telephone has filed to runfortheSpurIndependent School District, At-Large, Place 6 seat for the May 6 election.The seat is currently held by school board president Barry Ferguson.
Spur ISD has two board seats on the ballot, Place 5 currently held by Matt Humphreys and Place 6, At Large, currently held by Barry Ferguson.
Patton Springs ISD holds their elections in November.
