Young people can learn a skill that will yield lifelong entertainment at chess camp at Spur ISD July 8 through July 10, 2019.
Monday, July 8 through Wednesday, July 10 camp classes will be held from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. for 1st grade and up.
The camp will be held in the Spur ISD cafeteria, and instruction will be conducted by USCF members Leah and Daniel Jones. Both have regional and national tournament experience.
Leah is currently the #324 ranked female player of any age in the state of Texas. Daniel has been successful in Lubbock-area competitions. He tied for 1st place in his most recent tournament. Amy Jones, their mother and chess team leader, will be on-hand to help teach and supervise.
The cost for Chess Camp is $10 per student or $30 per family. Sign up deadline is July 2, 2019. To sign up call (806) 787-3568.
