City of Spur to open bids for trash service Nov. 7; SOS to continue until new contract secured

According to Spur city secretary Ashley Carothers, SOS Waste Company has agreed to leave their garbage collection containers in place in the city until a new company takes over. The firm last month informed the city it was canceling service as of Oct. 31, and the city began researching alternatives.

Carothers said there will be a special meeting of the Spur city council at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, to open and review bids.
