Golf scramble results 10/04/22

It was a beautiful evening for Golf Scramble Tuesday last week! Six teams were formed by randomly drawing initialized golf balls out of a bucket. Two places were paid out.

Shooting 7 under par for a score of 29 was the team of Ron Young, Justin Posey, Tyler Luke and Ralph Frausto, to come in first place. Taking home second-place winnings for the week was the team of Gene Everheart, Jason Tanner, Floyd Starkey and Jimmy Ashley, who shot 4 under par for a score of 32.

A shout-out goes to Freddy Gonzalez, who took home the money pot on the No. 8 hole with his drive of 9 feet 3½ inches from the cup. The No. 1 hole money pot will roll over and grow. As it stands right now, November 1 will be the last Tuesday scramble of the season. This is subject to change because the days are getting darker quicker. We will certainly let everyone know if it does change.

SGA board meeting

The SGA board of directors held their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

The raffle ticket fundraiser for the golf cart, driver and putter was a complete success. Thank you to all who sold tickets and all those who purchased tickets to support the association. The greens have come a long way since the beginning of the season. They are continuing to improve and looking better all the time. The continued improvement is due to the hard work of several people all working together to get our course in the best shape. Thank you to all who have given their personal time to lend a hand! You are appreciated. Discussions took place about the course equipment and what maintenance needs to be done to keep everything in working order for the betterment of our course.

The Club Championship tournament will take place at the course on Saturday, Oct. 15. Tee off will be at 1 p.m. There is no charge to play!

The annual member meeting will begin immediately following the round, along with a brisket meal provided at approximately 6 p.m. There are two board member spots coming open. Nominations and voting by written ballot will take place by those present at the meeting. Nomination forms will not be mailed out this year. The term for the two new board members will be two years. We look forward to seeing everyone!

As I close, I will leave you with this quote: “The most rewarding things you do in life are often the ones that look like they cannot be done.” ― Arnold Palmer Until next week – God bless!
