In the regular monthly
meeting of the Dickens County Commissioners Court on Thursday, Oct. 13, the following consent agenda items were approved by the court: Precinct #2 purchase of DEF that exceeds the county spending; the cost for a 2,000-hour major oil change on Precinct #2 maintainer; the purchase of extended warranty for Precinct #1 maintainer; six driver tires for Precinct #2 truck that will exceed the county spending policy.
In other court action, Mike Fry appeared before the court to discuss an application for tax abatement for HE Cottonwood Solar,LLCandanapplicationfor taxabatementforBurkesol,LLC.
The court unanimously approved the 2023 Dickens County Resolution for Indigent Defense Grant Program.
Commissioners discussed the Texas Commission on Jail Standards audit. Dickens County Jail received Certificate of Compliance. No action was taken on repair to the sewer line at the jail.
On a motion by Mike Smith and second by Jerry Alexander, the court voted unanimously to approve treasurer Darla Thomason to send letters of indebtedness.
Court recessed at 10:25 and then went into Executive Session at 10:33 a.m. to discuss a personnel matter. The court came out of the closed session at 10:42 a.m.
The court unanimously approved action on claims incurred against the county since the last commissioner’s court.
The court adjourned at 11:31 a.m
