The Texas Department of State Health Services is holding a Covid-19 Vaccination Event at the First United Methodist Church in Spur on Monday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The clinic was previously scheduled for February 12, but had to be rescheduled due to the winter storm.
Interested persons must secure an appointment online. A link to the online registration will be available at the Dickens County Facebook page, City of Spur Facebook page and The Texas Spur Facebook page soon. DSHS was in Spur to do a walk-through at the church last Tuesday afternoon, and when procedures were in place, the signup link was to be live.
Approximately 200 vaccines are to be available for first responders, 65+ and 55+ with health risks.
Anyone wanting to be must have an email address in order to schedule an appointment. However, if you do not have an email address, you may create one for this purpose, even if you don’t plan to use it.
If you need a ride to the vaccine site, please call the Dickens County Judge’s office at (806) 623-5532 to get a ride.
The vaccine is Moderna, and the second shot will be given at the same location March 12. The goal is to vaccinate at least 200 people.
