GAIL— The Legendary Coyote Store in Gail, Texas, was named “Venue of the Year” at the 8th Annual Josie Awards held last month at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee “We were so surprised and we’re very proud to bring this award back to West Texas,” said venue owner Becky Justice said. “We believe this award belongs to everyone who has shown support for our venue over the past seven years.”
Justice added that “it was surreal stepping on the stage at the Grand Ole Opry.” Justice owned a 32seat café she has turned into a 1,350-seat outdoor music venue that hosts the legends of country music.
Established in 1985, the Coyote Store has served Borden County and the surrounding communities of West Texas for over 28 years. Purchased by Justice’s grandmother, Bertie, in 1992, it has remained family owned and operated for over 30 years. This special cafe/local grocery store possesses a unique charm that keeps customers coming back for more.
The venue’s 2022 season finale show featured Gene Watson, The Bellamy Brothers and David Frizzell. This year, national headliners appearing at The Coyote Store include Ronnie Milsap, Asleep at the Wheel, Shenandoah, Sammy Kershaw and Neal McCoy.
