In the regular meeting of the Dickens County commissioners court on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, the court voted unanimously to utilize Dickens County personnel and equipment for demolition of old buildings in the City of Spur in preparation for a new Spur fire department headquarters. Dennis Wyatt, an owner and donor of one of the properties under consideration, abstained from voting.
In other court action Jonathan Galley from Perdue, Brandon, Fielder, Collins and Mott updated the court on fines and fee collections in the justice of the peace court.
Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the resolution designating a reinvestment zone. The county has been in discussions with Broad Reach Power about the energy storage company locating a facility in Dickens County.
The court voted unanimously to approve the Texas Commission on Jail Standards re-inspection requirements review.
In other votes, commissioners approved the Dickens County investment policy and also agreed to a proposed contract with Texas Fire Code Consulting.
