In the regular monthly meeting of the Dickens County commissioners court on June 12, 2023 the court voted unanimously to stay with the current health insurance policy with the county absorbing the cost increase for the 2023-2024 TAC Health and Employee Benefits Pool Insurance.
Commissioners also unanimously approved a declaration of disaster related to excessive rain and flooding, and the court reviewed insurance settlements.
The court voted unanimously to take no action on sealed bids for county/ roof repair and to secure a consultant for county roof/ window repairs.
In other court action, commissioners unanimously approved the engagement letter with Bolinger, Segars, Gilbert & Moss, LLP for the fiscal year ending September 31, 2023.
Commissioners unanimously approved the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement for Application Development and Administration Services Local Hazard Mitigation Plans Program (LHMPP).
The court voted unanimously not to rent a vehicle for the Sheriff’s Office and to lend them a truck from Road and Bridge, and it also approved county use procedures for the Suburban vehicle.
Commissioners discussed ARPA funds, and no action was taken.
Members present were County Judge Kevin Brendle and commissioners Dennis Wyatt, Precinct #1; Mike Smith, Precinct #2; Charlie Morris, Precinct #3 Greg Arnold, Precinct #4, as well as Danay Carnes, county clerk, and Brandi Abbott, treasurer.
June 26 special meeting. In its called session of June 26, 2023, the Dickens County commissioners court took action on three items.
Charlie Morris made a motion to approve the agreement with ARMKO presented by Greg Carroll. The motion passed unanimously.
On a motion by Mike Smith the court voted unanimously to have the Sheriff use Road and Bridge’s black 2014 Chevrolet truck.
Mike Smith made a motion to approve the resolution adopting/renewing revised tax abatement guidelines and criteria; the motion passed unanimously.
