Dickens commissioners approve abatement for HE-Cotton Solar LLC

In the regular monthly meeting of the Dickens County Commissioners Court on February 13 at the Dickens County Annex, Mike Fry presented an application to the county for a Tax Abatement Agreement with HE-Cotton Solar LLC. Charlie Morris made the motion to approve the Tax Abatement Agreement with HE-Cotton Solar LLC. Greg Arnold seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

In other court action, Dennis Wyatt made a motion to approve the resolution to authorize the participation in the South Plains Regional Mutual Aid Agreement. Morris seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Wess Abbott gave his resignation to the Court as Emergency Management Coordinator. He recommended Matt Hindman to succeed him in that capacity. Hindman will be appointed to serve as Dickens CountyEmergencyManagement Coordinator by Judge Keving Brendle beginning March 1.

On a motion by Greg Arnold and seconded by Mike Smith the court voted unanimously to approve the Western Surety Bond for Patti Hagar, Justice of the Peace.

Court discussed the Sheriff’s Office deficit budget for jailers’ salaries. No action was taken.

Appointments of election judges were made. In other decisions, Charlie Morris made a motion to adopt the Training Reimbursement Policy for Dickens County Road and Bridge and Dickens County Sheriff’s Department. Dennis Wyatt seconded and the motion passed unanimously.

On a motion by Greg Arnold and seconded by Charlie Morris the court voted unanimously to pay for chairs that will exceed the county spending policy.

Mike Smith made a motion to approve the Interlocal Agreement between Dickens County and TDEM (Texas Division of Emergency Management). Greg Arnold seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

The motion to approve Dickens County Investment Policy passed unanimously.

Commissioners Court reviewed ARPA funds. No action was taken.

Charlie Morris made the motion to hire Tom Martin as Road and Bridge hand for Precinct 4. Mike Smith seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Mike Smith made a motion to accept the gift real estate known as Dickens Baptist Church further described as Blk 42, Lots 7-14 and Lots 15-20 in the Original Town of Dickens. Dennis Wyatt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
