In the regular monthly meeting of the Dickens County Commissioners Court on March 13, 2023, Johnathan Galley presented the Fine & Fee Collections report from Perdue, Brandon, Fielder, Collins & Mott LLP.
David Copeland with Bolinger, Segars, Gilbert, Moss, LLP presented the 2022 Audit Report.
On a motion made by Mike Smith and seconded by Greg Arnold, the court voted unanimously to accept the following bids on In-Trust Properties: 5304 S. Parker Avenue, bid from Spencer Godard, Dallas, $650; 5398 Franklin Avenue, bid from Jack Britton, Spur, $600; 712 W. 2nd Street, LaToya Taylor, College Station, $600.
Smith made a motion to approve the mandatory Cybersecurity Course Enrollment for elected officials and county employees provided by the Texas Association of Counties, and Charlie Morris seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Commissioners discussed the planning process for utilizing the ARPA funds and the Off-System Bridge Report.
Morris then made the motion to repair the Sheriff’s Department 2014 Chevrolet pickup and pay for repairs using ARPA funds. Dennis Wyatt seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.
In attendance at the monthly meeting were County Judge Kevin Brendle. Commissioners, Dennis Wyatt, Precinct #1; Mike Smith, Precinct #2; Charlie Morris, Precinct #3 Greg Arnold, Precinct #4, Danay Carnes, County Clerk and Brandi Abbott, Treasurer.
