Dickens Commissioners increase price of county-owned material

In the regular meeting of the Dickens County Commissioners on Monday, Nov. 14, the court discussed costs of custom hauling of gravel and materials.

Commissioner Charlie Morris made a motion to charge $6.00 per loaded mile for custom hauling of gravel and material. Jerry Alexander seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. On a motion made by Dennis Wyatt and second by Charlie Morris, the court voted unanimously to increase the amount of county owned material to $9.00 per cubic yard and increase purchase price of material to $3.00 per cubic yard.

A motion was made by Commissioner Mike Smith to accept a bid on In-Trust Property. Wyatt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

In other action, commissioners approved the cost of repair for precinct 3 motor grader, approved the Dickens County Assistance Allocation, approved a Wester Surety Band for Brandi Dukes, Deputy County/District Clerk, and approved the 2023 county employee holiday calendar as presented.

The November 8, 2022, the general election was canvassed by the court and approved unanimously.
