Dickens Commissioners set first budget meeting for July 25

In the regular meeting of the Dickens County commissioners court on July 11, commissioners determined that the first budget meeting will be held July 25.

In other action, The Texas Spur presented advertising options for a multi-year Community Guide that will be distributed the night of KCBD’s Community Coverage Tour in Spur.

In the consent agenda, along with departmental reports, commissioners approved the 21 percent Federal Poverty Guidelines Minimum Income Standard as the Dickens County Indigent Healthcare monthly income statement.

In action items, Debi Gardner presented the annual report for the Dickens County Volunteer Emergency Medical Services. Mack Gardner presented the annual report for the McAdoo Fire Department. Wess Abbott presented the annual report for the Spur Volunteer Fire Department. Andrew Adams presented options for utilizing different emergency management text/paging services for Dickens County.

Commissioners discussed extending the service pack for the Canon scanner used for the election, but that discussion was tabled.

The court discussed the planning process for utilizing American Rescue Plan funds.
