Dickens County 4-H and FFA members have a few more days to prepare their animals for the 2021 Dickens County Junior Livestock Show, will be held at the Spur Exhibition Barn in Spur’s Swenson Park Friday and Saturday, Jan. 22–23.
One annual tradition is changing, however: the Dickens County Junior Livestock Show Committee announced this week that due to unforeseen circumstances and Covid-19 precautions, there will be no barbecue meal in the show barn before the sale, as in the past. Instead, the 4-H club will staff a concession stand through out the event.
The 4-H club will be accepting the raffle ticket stubs in exchange for hamburger meal deals on Saturday only, said the committee. “We want to express our gratitude to Star Feed and Seed for their continued support with the meal.”
Those who are unable to attend the show and premium sale in person may participate by sending a donation to be presented at the premium sale to a very deserving participant’s livestock project. These tax-deductible donations can be mailed to the above address or given to any Dickens County Livestock Association member.
