Due to the Columbus Day federal holiday that falls on Monday, Oct. 11 and prompts closures of many state offices, banks, and local offices as well, county commission meetings in our area have been changed.
Dickens County, which had previously moved its regular October meeting to Oct. 8, in a special meeting last week changed the date to Thursday, Oct. 7, county judge Kevin Brendle said. The meeting will take place at 9:00 a.m. at the county courthouse annex in Dickens.
In Kent County, the October commissioners court Meeting regularly set for the second Monday will take place Thursday, Oct. 14.
