Nikita “Bookman” Vlassenkov (as he’s known on his Facebook page) is a college student from Estonia (Europe) doing his summer internship with the Southwestern Advantage curriculum program. He visited Spur, Matador, Paducah and several other cities in the region last week, selling educational materials that provide ACT prep, college credit classes, and study guides for all subjects K-12 through McGraw Hill and Princeton Review, as well as a jump-start program for pre-K.
Nikita said that he had spent six summers doing this in the U.K., as a way to finance his college studies in cybersecurity. He obtained door-to-door sales permits and law enforcement sanction in communities that he visited, and he posted photos from families on his Facebook page.
