FedEx shipping now available inside Spur Dollar General store

Since the first of August, a new service has been added in Spur’s Dollar General store. Customers may now send and receive FedEx packages there. According to store management, there is a shelf behind the counter for both pickup and dropoff at the register.

Formerly, customers needing to ship an outbound package from the area would need to pay a fee above the shipping cost to arrange a driver pickup.

Customers who want a pickup can now print their labels at home and bring the package to the store. Also, recipients may prefer to have a package delivered to the store if there is any concern about having it delivered to their home address and left on their front porch. This service is now available at many Dollar General Stores through an arrangement with FedEx.

When placing an order for any product that is shipped to the customer’s home, the buyer receives a tracking number. That number can be used to divert delivery by entering it in online at fedex.com under “manage delivery.” The option to “hold at location” can be selected in the menu and the customer can then choose the Dollar General location that is most convenient.

Drivers on the route confirmed that they began servicing the new location last week.
