The First Baptist Church of Jayton has announced that Blake Appleby will be their new pastor. Jake Edwards, the church’s previous pastor for more than six years, accepted a call to Pottsboro in May 2022. (Edwards also earned his Doctor of Divinity degree last month from Liberty University.)
Blake, his wife Meredith, and their three children, Micah, Wade, and Kate, came in view of a call to FBC Jayton on May 7. The church affirmed Appleby with a unanimous vote, and he will begin his role as pastor in early June.
For the past 13 years Appleby has served as a student pastor in both Florida and Tennessee. As an evangelist, he has served numerous churches and organizations for more than 10 years, touching the lives of many people.
Meredith teaches school online.
