Fishing Report for week of July 19

Lake Alan Henry

Location: 28 miles west of Clairemont on the Double Mountain of the Brazos River FAIR. Water clear; 86 degrees; 2.82 feet below pool. Fishing patterns remain as steady as the heat. Lake Stamford

Location: 10 miles east of Stamford on Paint Creek, a tributary of the Clear Fork of the Brazos River FAIR. Water normal stain; 85 degrees; 1.21 feet below pool. Fishing for all species is hit-or-miss in the heat. Few reports of crappie, but should be caught in the lights at night on minnows and jigs. White bass fair to good in the main lake. Bass are fair. Catfish are in the shallows on the rocks. Report by Anchor Marina.

Lake Spence

Location: 42 miles south of Colorado City FAIR. Water stained; 86 degrees. 45.62 feet below pool. Fishing continues to be fair and the weather remains hot.Target bass along brush lines with drop-offs nearby and keep a topwater lure handy for fish chasing bait. There is a decent bass topwater bite from about 7 p.m. to dark, and should be good in the morning as well. A few catches with plastic worms in shallow water late in the evenings. White bass are still being caught on jigs and spoons. Catfishing is fair on jugs or rodand- reel using cut shad and worms. Very few anglers on the water due to the Texas heat. White River Lake

Location: 25 miles south of Crosbyton on the White River, a tributary of the Salt Fork of the Brazos River FAIR. Water stained; 85 degrees; 20.44 feet below pool. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are fair from the bank using worms or prepared baits.
