Galaxy reps appear before Dickens commissioners in Oct. to discuss future plans, abatement applications

In the regular monthly meeting of the Dickens County commissioners court on Oct. 10, 2023, Mike Fry and Barbara Bogart of Galaxy Digital appeared before the court to discuss future expansion projects and tax abatement applications with Galaxy Power.

The court then recessed at 10:28 a.m. and reconvened at 10:37 a.m.

In other action, commissioners unanimously approved the 2023 Resolution for Indigent Defense Grant Program. The court then unanimously approved the Interlocal Agreement for the Establishment of the High Plains Regional Public Defender’s Office.

Commissioners then held a discussion about the Dickens County abatement calendar.

The court unanimously approved the purchase of the John Deere Motor Grader for Precinct 4.

Commissioners unanimously approved the purchase of a computer, scanner, and printer for the clerk’s office, using ARPA funds.

The court voted unanimously to appoint Lindsey Humphreys as Dickens County representative for the Dickens County Appraisal District.

Commissioners unanimously approved the following bids on in-trust properties: $5,789.00 for 709 Carroll Ave., Spur.

$700.00 for 502 Max

$1,755.00 for 820 W. Harris St., Spur.

The commissioners then discussed ARPA funds.

The court recessed at 11:49 a.m. and resumed at 12:55 p.m.

After resuming, the court unanimously approved all claims against the court since the last meeting; Historical Commissionbillsand all line item transfers.

The court adjourned at 2:37 p.m.

In attendance were County Judge Kevin Brendle and commissioners Dennis Wyatt, Precinct #1; Mike Smith, Precinct 2; Greg Arnold, Precinct #4; County Clerk Danay Carnes; and Treasurer Brandi Abbott.
